So, if Doug is thirty, and he has owned 26 cars... If I somehow find a way to buy and sell twenty four cars in the next decade I'll match him evenly.

13 - and I’m 50 years old.
But I had 7 by the time I was 22 - I’ve slowed down a LOT since then.

I’m at 11 and am 43. I tend to keep my cars for 10 years if
they are good cars. I’m guessing I’ll keep the Mazda3 until the kids kill it in high school.

Just 4 cars @ 27. Ti me to buy 22 more.
Also, what the hell, Doug is only three years older than me? Always had him pegged at mid -30s.

I’m going to skew the average downward. I’m 43.
I’ve had 6 cars, 4 with my name on the title . Well, technically, my wife’s cars while we’ve been married have had my name on the title, too, that bumps it up by 3 more.
We like to hold on to cars, even if it requires fighting my wandering eye.

In order, plus useless trivia :
1984 Ford Ranger single cab long bed - only non car, leaked oil and transmission fluid, slack in steering wheel, but speakers yo
1991 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 door - only had for a few months, rear ended a truck and was totaled even though it didn’t have much damage (wasn’t worth much)
, most comfortable seats of any car I have owned
1993 Mazda Protege - Base model, manual
windows and locks, lots of fun for a little car, went through 3 transmissions
2001 Mitsubishi Galant - Another fun car, but literally just started falling apart eventually
1999 Honda Accord - Fully loaded V6 with leather and sunroof, beige on beige but was one of mu favorites, bought with over 250k miles and sold with over 300k, only issue was the transmission (common for that generation)
2003 BMW 540i M-Sport - My favorite of all I owned, had issues but most were fixed within the month,
had for all of one month though
before hitting a deer and totaling it, should have bought another, yes I am bitter about it
2004 Nissan 350z convertible - Lots of fun, but top needed replacing and other things started going wrong, actually like the exhaust sound from the VQ35 unlike most on here
2009 BMW 328i - Current car, love/hate relationship, has made me decide that as much of a BMW fan I am, I will never buy another one
So 7 cars, 1 truck, and just turned 35.

aw man, that's a shame about the 540i, it's the prettiest generation imho.

I count 13. I’m 35, however I only got my first car at 27 and bought my first car at 29. Of the following list I still own the oldest two and the newest one. And the VW, which was my first car and which has been parked in a shed since 2013. I shouldn’t forgot the Lancia either, its engine lives on in the 1987 205 cti.
1986 Peugeot 205 (2016- )
1987 Peugeot 205 cti (2015- )
1988 Peugeot 205 gti (2014-2017)
1988 Peugeot 205 cti (2015)
1988 BMW 325i touring (2014)
1989 BMW 320i touring (2015)
1990 Citroën BX diesel (2016)
1991 VW Golf (2010- )
1996 Peugeot 306 convertible (2015)
1996 Lancia Zeta ( 2016-2017)
1997 Mitsubishi Galant wagon (€500 beater for a carbagerun rally) (2016)
1997 Subaru Legacy wagon (€500 beater for a carbagerun rally) (2012)
2000 Peugeot 406 coupe (2012- )
I’ve never owned a car designed in the 21st century. I certainly will at some point, but I don’t care for 99+ % of them at all.

In order of acquisition from oldest to newest.
1969 AMC Ambassador
1985 Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe
1992 Ford Crown Victoria LX
1987 Chevy Cadavalier Z24
1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V
1990 Chevy Corsica
1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport
1984 BMW 318i
1996 Chevy Blazer 4-door
1993 Ford Taurus SHO
1990 Nissan Maxima
1995 BMW 530i
2006 Lincoln Zephyr
1997 Ford F-250HD (OBS)
2000 Volvo S70
The Ambassador I bought on September 11th, 2001 (yes, that day), about 10 weeks after I got my driver’s license, which was 6 months after turning 16 and getting my learner’s permit.
T
he Volvo I just bought in late August, about 6 weeks ago. So, span of just about 17 years. If you count my two motorcycles, I’ve averaged one vehicle acquisition per year.
Still own the F-250 and the S70. I’d have twice that number if I had the land to park more cars.

1989-1992 SHOs were manual only. 1993 introduced an automatic version and about 2/3s of the 1993-1995 cars were automatic.
I miss that car but engine parts were unobtainium. Was a riot to drive when it ran right, but the car was plagued with electrical and sensor problems.
